Sempra President Bilicic Leaving Utility After Less Than a Year

George Bilicic, an investment banker turned utilities executive, is stepping down as president and chief legal officer of Sempra Energy.

Bilicic, who resigned from the San Diego-based utility network after less than a year on Monday, will receive a severance including a $3.2 million cash payment and health insurance coverage for up to 24 months, according to a regulatory filing Tuesday.

“Mr. Bilicic and the company have agreed to treat such resignation as a resignation for ‘good reason’ as defined in his severance pay agreement,” Sempra said.
