NortonLifeLock Sued Derivatively Over Board, Exec Diversity

NortonLifeLock Inc.’s leadership allegedly misled investors when it touted a commitment to diversity despite not having a single Black director or officer, according to a suit filed Wednesday in California federal district court.

The software company’s executives and board “repeatedly made misrepresentations” about NortonLifeLock’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in an attempt to “avoid public backlash,” a shareholder derivative complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said.

NortonLifeLock’s directors and senior officer ranks also lack “any meaningful representation of other minorities,” the shareholder said.
