Flight Crew Transport Company Revives Case Against App Developer

SkyHop Technologies Inc., which operates an app that coordinates ground travel for airline crews, successfully resurrected extortion claims against a business partner it accused of holding the software hostage.

The US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit revived litigation by SkyHop and one of its founders against Tech.US Inc.—sued under an alias, Indyzen Inc.—and its CEO. Because the case describes emails to Florida that could constitute illegal threats, Tech.US is subject to jurisdiction there, the court said.
