Ex-VW CEO Winterkorn’s Trial in Diesel Case to Start Feb. 25

The trial of former Volkswagen AG Chief Executive Officer Martin Winterkorn and four others accused of serious fraud linked to the diesel-rigging scandal starts on Feb. 25, a court ruled.

The former CEO and other managers were charged last year with equipping vehicles sold to customers with a so-called defeat device. A court in Braunschweig, Germany, which last month allowed the case to proceed, scheduled 133 hearing dates until January 2023.
