Corporate Reporting on ESG Issues Would be Mandatory in House Bill

A new draft bill in the House would mandate corporate reporting on environmental, social, and governance issues.

Many companies voluntarily report on ESG, as it’s known, as investors show more interest in issues like climate change and workforce diversity. But investors say an ESG reporting standard is needed because current disclosures aren’t consistent enough to compare across companies.
