Cognizant Must Pay Fees for Ex-Top Lawyer Facing Bribery Case

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. must cover at least $2.64 million of the $2.9 million its former top attorney has paid Bohrer PLLC to defend him against criminal charges stemming from an alleged bribery scheme, a Delaware judge ruled Friday.

The fees case stems from the federal prosecution of Cognizant ex-CEO Gordon J. Coburn and former chief legal officer Steven E. Schwartz. The government has accused them of conspiring to pay $2 million in bribes for permission to build a facility in India.
