Two climate activists have been indicted for smearing paint on the plexiglass housing Edgar Degas’s “Little Dancer Aged Fourteen” at the National Gallery of Art on April 27.
The indictment, filed on Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, charges Timothy Martin and Joanna Smith with one count of injuring National Gallery of Art property in violation of 40 U.S.C. sections 6303 and 6307, and one count of conspiracy.
