Wyoming Joins Lawsuit in Support of Western States’ Gas Leases

Wyoming and the American Petroleum Institute can intervene on behalf of the federal government to defend the approval of more than 1,000 oil and gas leases on public lands in western states, a Washington, D.C., federal court ruled.

Wyoming has millions of dollars linked to the leases, and it collaborated with the Bureau of Land Management to develop regulations governing the leases, according to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
