Wildlife Agency Seeks to Avoid Suit Over Delayed Animal Reports

Conservation groups failed to show harm from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s alleged delay in updating stock assessment reports for sea otters, walruses, and other marine mammals, the Justice Department told a California federal court.

The Center for Biological Diversity and Turtle Island Restoration Network haven’t identified any members with plans to study, teach about, or visit any of the species at issue, according to the filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
