The US Fish and Wildlife Service reached a settlement and agreed to soon release species stock assessment reports for manatees, sea otters, and Pacific walruses that were sought by environmental groups, according to a Monday filing in a California federal court.
The Center for Biological Diversity and Turtle Island Restoration Network sued the agency over its delay in reviewing and revising the reports. The agency’s inaction violated the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Administrative Procedure Act, the groups told the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
