Wholesale Power Supplier Opts Out of Colorado Oversight (2)

One of Colorado’s largest wholesale suppliers of electric power will seek federal regulation and avoid having its rates governed by utility commissions in the four states where it operates.

The board of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association Inc. voted to place itself under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission oversight for purposes of rate regulation, saying the move would eliminate inconsistent rate treatment by states.
