White House Reviewing Delay of Obama-Era Water Rule

The White House is reviewing a plan that would delay until 2020 the effective date of an Obama-era rule that sought to clarify the reach of the Clean Water Act.

The purpose of this federal regulation is to prevent the Clean Water Rule, also known as Waters of the U.S. or WOTUS, from taking effect after a Jan. 22 U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck a nationwide ban on the rule.
