Wheeler’s First Act: Replacing Obama-Era Power Plant Carbon Rule

The EPA is one step closer to unveiling long-awaited plans to replace Obama-era greenhouse gas limits on power plants with a much narrower regulation.

The White House began review of the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal July 9 (RIN:2060-AT67). The plans would establish a new set of regulations to replace the Obama administration’s rule, known as the Clean Power Plan, that required existing power plants to cut their carbon emissions by 32 percent by 2030.
