Western Water Projects to Get $1 Billion in Infrastructure Money

Water projects meant to quench drought-stricken Western cities’ thirst are set to receive $1 billion over the next five years with infrastructure funding made available through the Interior Department, the agency announced Friday.

The funding, which Congress earmarked for water projects in the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will provide $550 million for water reclamation and reuse projects and $250 million for water desalination projects over the next five years.
