Want to Avoid Another Flint? Monitor States, Inspector General Says (1)

The EPA must step up its oversight of states if it wants to avoid another water crisis such as the one in Flint, Mich., the agency’s inspector general said July 19.

Though most states have primary responsibility for regulating their drinking water, the inspector general’s report found that the Environmental Protection Agency needs to take a greater role to prevent another catastrophic contamination incident similar to what happened in Flint.
