VW to Ask SCOTUS to End Ohio Suit for $1 Trillion Fine (2)

Volkswagen AG lost an appeal over Ohio’s lawsuit seeking to impose a $350 million-per-day fine over the company’s diesel emissions software Tuesday and intends to ask the U.S. Supreme Court for review of the state top court ruling.

The Ohio Supreme Court allowed the state attorney general’s suit to proceed, saying the federal Clean Air Act doesn’t preempt state law.
