Volkswagen Sidesteps Broader Diesel Scandal Appeal in Canada (1)

A Canadian court tossed out a bid by environmental groups to expand the federal government’s investigation into Volkswagen AG’s rigged diesel emission testing.

The Federal Court of Appeal on Monday granted a motion by the Attorney General of Canada and dismissed the appeal from Environmental Defence Canada after a one-day hearing, according to the court’s website. The site didn’t include reasons for the judgment.
