Vectren Beats Investor Bid to Revive CenterPoint Merger Suit

Vectren Corp. investors lost their bid to revive a suit accusing the company of leaving important information out of a proxy statement ahead of a 2018 merger, after the Seventh Circuit affirmed the lower court’s dismissal Monday.

Investors challenged statements the Indiana public utility and energy company made before CenterPoint Energy Inc. acquired it. They didn’t allege that the purported omissions were material or caused economic losses, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said.
