Utah Green Group Joins Fight Over Road Plan Near Escalante

A conservation group will join a decade-long quiet title fight between the federal government and the Utah county that contains large parts of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the Tenth Circuit said June 25.

Kane County, Utah, claims to own title to 15 rights-of-way over public lands. A large portion of Kane County covers the southern portion of Grand Staircase-Escalante, which contains some of the most remote wilderness in the country but which President Trump has targeted for scaling back.
