U.S. Steel Pollution Permit for Minnesota Plant Remains Revoked

A pollution permit issued for a U.S. Steel Corp. plant in Minnesota will stay revoked after a state appeals court said additional evidence is needed to support state regulators’ decision against mandating water-quality based effluent limits.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals took a second look at the permit issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency following a state top court ruling in the case, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in County of Maui v. Hawai’i Wildlife Fund.
