U.S. Solar Is on an Upswing and Earnings Are Now Showing It (1)

After a two-year slowdown, solar in America is taking off again.

U.S. panel maker SunPower Corp. reported net income of $121.5 million in the second quarter, up from a loss of $447.1 million a year ago. The company raised its 2019 earnings forecast to as much as $120 million from $110 million. Just a day earlier, solar inverter manufacturer Enphase Energy Inc. posted record revenue and projected third-quarter revenue that topped the estimate of every analyst tracked by Bloomberg.

While the rest of the major solar companies in the U.S. have yet to report, SunPower and Enphase beat analysts’ expectations ...
