U.S. Not Deserting Fossil Fuels, DOE Chief Tells Climate Summit

“My country is abandoning none of our fuels and not one iota of economic opportunity in the quest for a clean energy world,” Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette says at the International Energy Agency’s conference on transitioning to clean energy.

  • Brouillette, speaking remotely from Texas, said a “top down government driven approach” to energy that lets “the government do the choosing” could result in higher taxes
  • Instead, Brouillette told the IEA’s Clean Energy Transitions Summit, he advocated for a “bottom-up, competition driven” approach
