The U.K. government has introduced draft legislation to tax companies that produce or import plastic packaging made up of less than 30% recycled material.
The tax would amount to 200 pounds ($263) per metric ton of plastic, and would take effect starting in April 2022, according to the draft legislation published Thursday.
