President Donald Trump is “open” to considering infrastructure spending on electric vehicle charging, Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) said April 30 after meeting Trump with other Democrats at the White House.
“He said he was open to that. He said he understands why that is needed. He wasn’t negative,” Stabenow said in an interview.
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said after leaving the meeting that Trump agreed to aim for a $2 trillion overall infrastructure plan, but left open how to pay for it.
