President Donald Trump on Thursday appointed James Danly as chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, according to a statement from the agency.
- Danly, a Republican, has served as a commissioner at the agency since March
- He replaces Neil Chatterjee as head of regulator that oversees interstate transmission of electricity and natural gas
- Chatterjee, who joined FERC in 2017 and was chairman since October 2018, said he will serve out the rest of his term at the agency as a commissioner
