The Trump administration rushed through a faulty environmental review of a proposed Rio Tinto copper mine in Arizona that will transform an area significant to American Indians into a “rubbleized crater,” according to a lawsuit filed in a federal court in the state.

The U.S. Forest Service failed to properly study alternatives and improperly reviewed the project under “erroneous interpretations of federal law,” the lawsuit says.
