Trump Administration Rule Easing Environmental Review Upheld

The Trump administration’s changes to the federal environmental review process will remain in effect after a Virginia federal court ruled Monday that conservation groups can’t proceed with their challenge to the rule.

The 2020 rule by the White House’s Council on Environmental Quality doesn’t directly regulate the groups, and additional actions must occur before it “impacts the consideration of any specific proposed project,” according to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
