Trout, Salmon Groups Join Legal Fray Over Pebble Mine Plan (1)

Another bevy of environmental and conservation groups sued the EPA Oct. 9 over its July decision to turn back proposed water pollution restrictions on the giant planned Pebble Mine in Alaska’s Bristol Bay, one day after five groups filed a nearly identical complaint in the same court.

One lawsuit, from Trout Unlimited, said the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision and reasoning was “faulty, arbitrary, and capricious,” according to a complaint before the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska.
