Trouble Seen Brewing for New York State’s Plastic Bag Ban (1)

New York state is moving forward with implementing one of the nation’s strictest plastic bag bans, despite calls for regulatory changes from lawmakers, industry leaders, and environmentalists.

The state on March 1 will join California and Oregon in banning most single-use plastic bags in an effort to cut back on one of the most visible symbols of plastic waste. Others, including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, and Vermont, are expected to soon follow.
