There’s More Solar Energy Coming to West Texas Oil Country

West Texas oil country is about to get another jolt of solar power after a German energy company began construction on a 100-megawatt farm.

EON SE’s West of the Pecos project is expected to go into service in December about 75 miles (121 kilometers) southwest of Midland-Odessa, according to a statement Jan. 30. It has a long-term contract to supply power to a unit of the South Korean energy company SK E&S Co.
