Supreme Court Urged to Review Ruling on Navajo Mine, Power Plant

Environmentalists and tribal advocates are pushing the Supreme Court to get involved in a long-running dispute over a New Mexico power plant and adjacent coal mine.

Diné Citizens Against Ruining Our Environment and four other groups filed a petition Tuesday urging the justices to reverse lower court decisions affirming federal approvals for a lease extension for the Four Corners Power Plant and an expansion for the Navajo Mine on tribal land in New Mexico.
