Sunnyside Gold, U.S. Seek Approval of $90 Million Superfund Deal

Sunnyside Gold, Kinross Gold, and the federal government want a New Mexico federal judge to approve a $90 million settlement to resolve a dispute over the cost of cleaning up hazardous substances at a Superfund site in southwest Colorado.

The settlement is fair, reasonable, and complies with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, according to the filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. All public comments received support the consent decree, the federal government told the court Monday.
