The EPA is ordering three companies to start designing the cleanup for portions of Oregon’s Portland Harbor Superfund site.
Evraz Inc., Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc., and MMGL LLC are bound by the orders to address contamination at the site, according to an EPA letter dated Thursday.
- The Portland Harbor site is one of the most complex in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund program, involving more than 100 parties potentially responsible for the harbor’s contamination.
