Spectra’s Court Win Means More Gas Flowing to New England

Spectra Energy Partners LP’s additional supplies of natural gas to the New England market will keep flowing following a July 27 court ruling, and another boost to those supplies is expected to follow later this year.

Taken together, the projects will help meet increasing demand in the Northeast and can reduce gas market volatility.

The contested $972 million pipeline project, called the Algonquin Incremental Market Project, was completed and put into service more than a year before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected legal challenges to the pipeline.
