Solar Panel Maker Warns Virus May Spark Supply Disruptions

Add solar panels to the list of products that may experience supply disruptions as the coronavirus spreads.

REC Group, a Norwegian panel maker that manufactures in Singapore, expects to hear as soon as Monday whether the virus will slow component shipments from China, according to the head of the company’s U.S. unit.

“We are starting to hear from some of our suppliers to be on alert for supply disruptions,” REC Group Americas President Cary Hayes said in an interview. “It is a pretty good bet that we are going to see some.”
