Snowmobiling Group Sues to Block Federal Permit for Winter Huts

The Forest Service has created “serious safety concerns” by issuing a permit that allows a company to build winter huts in an area frequented by snowmobilers, according to a new lawsuit filed in a Washington federal court.

The agency issued a special use permit to Wenatchee Mountain Alpine Huts LLC without public notice and without environmental review, the Washington State Snowmobile Association told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
