Senate Passes Flood Insurance Extension With Days to Spare

The National Flood Insurance Program appears likely to continue without a lapse, after the Senate passed a four-month extension of the program May 23.

The extension comes as part of a larger $19.1 billion disaster relief bill, which passed the Senate on an 85-8 vote, with all Democrats voting in favor. The House has already cleared a version of the legislation, H.R. 2157, on a 257-150 vote earlier this month.
