The Department of Justice has a new leader for its environmental division after the Senate confirmed the Trump administration’s nominee on a narrow, mostly party-line vote.
Jeffery Bossert Clark will now head the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division after the Senate confirmed his nomination Oct. 11 on a 52-45 vote. Only two Democrats voted in favor of confirming Clark: Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.).
Clark’s nomination languished in the Senate for more than a year, with Democratic lawmakers scrutinizing his ties to his former corporate clients.
