Senate Committee Narrowly Advances Interior Solicitor Nominee

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee narrowly voted on Thursday to advance Robert Anderson’s nomination as Interior solicitor to the full Senate.

The vote was 11-9 in favor of Anderson, mostly along party lines. It is unclear when the Senate will vote to confirm the nominees.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), one of the lone Republicans who supported Interior Secretary Deb Haaland’s nomination, was the only Republican to vote for Anderson. Murkowski didn’t comment on her vote during the brief hearing.
