The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on Tuesday advanced two Interior Department nominees who were previously unable to be confirmed in 2019.
Katharine MacGregor, deputy chief of staff to Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, was nominated by President Donald Trump as deputy Interior secretary in 2019, and again in January after she failed to receive a confirmation vote in the Senate before the end of the year.
MacGregor is currently acting as deputy Interior secretary. Before joining Interior in 2017, MacGregor served under Republicans as a House Natural Resources Committee staffer.
