An oversight agency in California warned the state Legislature and Gov. Jerry Brown (D) that “without immediate action, California faces a major health crisis” when water transfers to restore the Salton Sea are cut off.
A letter from the oversight body known as the Little Hoover Commission represents a follow-up to its 2015 report in which it urged that restoration of the dying Salton Sea “start small, but soon.”
The commission offered recommendations in its letter such as elevating the importance of Salton Sea restoration when it comes to state policy.
