Punitive Damages Award Rejected in Take-Home Asbestos Suit

A Los Angeles water company isn’t liable for $5 million in punitive damages awarded to the son of a former employee, because there wasn’t sufficient evidence it knew about the potential risk of asbestos exposure to employees, a state appeals court said.
