PG&E Reaches $3.9 Billion Settlement on Nuclear Plant Closure

PG&E is proposing to cut the estimated cost for decommissioning the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant to $3.9 billion from $4.8 billion after reaching a settlement with consumer advocates and other parties.

  • The agreement with groups including The Utility Reform Network, public advocacy office of the California Public Utilities Commission, Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility and the county of San Luis Obispo resolves all disputed issues with the settling parties: regulatory filing
