Penn State Panel Clears U.S. Scientist of Allegations of Climate Research Misconduct

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A report from The Pennsylvania State University has cleared Michael Mann, a climate scientist and director of the university’s Earth System Science Center, who had been accused of inappropriately manipulating climate change data.

The report, released July 1, concluded that Mann acted appropriately and cleared him of all allegations of research misconduct.

The report was compiled by a committee made up of five professors and the university’s director of the office for research protections.
