Ohio Governor Backs Energy Harbor Subsidies Despite Allegation

Critics calling for the repeal of $900 million in nuclear subsides for Energy Harbor’s two Ohio nuclear plants can’t rely on Gov. Mike DeWine’s support to scrap the program—he wants to keep the law despite an alleged $60 million bribery scheme behind the law’s passage.

“I’ve advocated for a balanced energy future in the state of Ohio. We believe nuclear plants are part of that balance,” DeWine (R) said Wednesday during a news conference in Columbus. “The policy is good policy. Because people did bad things that does not mean the policy is bad policy.”
