Ocean Decline, Climate Change Threaten Life: Former EPA Chief

Rising ocean temperatures and sea levels, biodiversity loss, and other effects of climate change on the oceans threaten life on earth, former Environmental Protection Agency administrator Carol Browner told a House Natural Resources subcommittee Feb. 7.

“We are running out of time” to address climate change, Browner said at the hearing. “When it comes to climate change, we have more science than we have ever had on any environmental or economic prices—more science than any decision made by the EPA to protect our air or our water.”
