Northeast, Canadian Leaders Want More Electric Cars on the Road

New England governors and Eastern Canadian premiers plan to pave the way for electric vehicles in the Northeast, despite a lack of support from the Trump administration.

“Every vehicle emits carbon dioxide and it is a matter that cries out for attention,” June Tierney, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Public Service, told Bloomberg Environment Aug. 13 following a discussion of electric vehicles at the 2018 meeting of New England governors and Eastern Canadian premiers in Stowe, Vt.
