NextEra Seeks to Add 30 Million Solar Panels in Florida by 2030

NextEra Energy Inc.’s Florida utility wants to install 30 million solar panels across the Sunshine State by 2030 and may ask customers to pay for it.

NextEra wants to create the world’s largest solar-panel installation by a regulated utility, it said in a statement Wednesday. The Juno Beach, Fla.-based company has already secured sites throughout the state and plans to invest in advanced battery-storage technology to allow solar power to be used after the sun goes down, it said.
