California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) backs only a single new tunnel in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta to supply the state’s thirsty southern end.
That’s a break from Newsom’s predecessor Gov. Jerry Brown who had championed the $17 billion plan to build two tunnels to ferry water to Southern California.
