The new chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is asking for 30 more days to mull over a rule that would subsidize certain coal and nuclear plants.
Kevin McIntyre sent the letter to Energy Secretary Rick Perry Dec. 7 shortly after being sworn in as FERC chairman the same day. He is the second member to join the panel in the last two weeks along with Democratic Commissioner Richard Glick, who was sworn in on Nov. 29.
